The Past Three Months... Where Did They Go???

Well, I have managed to not update you guys for three whole months! I can't believe this! Well, actually I guess I can... I started up with school again and then this month there was Hurricane Ike... which threw everything off kilter... But we are all doing well. We were without power for 9 days from the hurricane but cannot complain.. There are still some people without power and it's been over two weeks since the storm now. They need lots of prayers. It has been tough on Houston and anywhere else the storm hit. Well, I don't really know what else to catch everyone up on. The only exciting news that I have is that I only have the next 3 months until I graduate with my BS degree... I cannot wait! My graduation is set for Dec. 21st at Minute Maid Park (where the Houston Astros play). Pretty cool! Another cool thing that I am excited about is that after Christmas I am going to be switching jobs and will be teaching 3rd or 4th grade at our church's school. I have many close friends from church that teach there and it will be a great introduction into teaching without being "thrown to the wolves" in public school. Plus, I will have the added benefit of teaching in a Christ-centered setting, which will be a wonderful change. I am really going to miss my kiddos at the CDC though. I have the 12-18 month olds right now and I have grown very attached, as I only have 7 students and I am their only teacher. It's going to be rough on all of us when I leave. Aside from ME... (sorry for going on and on about myself like that-lol)... Don is doing great and loving his job. He only has until this summer before he completes his Masters degree... so he is also continuing to pluck away at school. And Ms. Shelby is just getting bigger and smarter every day. This month she discovered her singing voice, changed her favorite color from yellow to pink, and can sing parts of songs and tell us the story when we are looking at her story books. She has done this for several months but now she is very good at it and is memorizing more and more. It's pretty impressive. She told me that she wants to be a black dog for her costume party at school so my mother-in-law and I are trying to get that together. She changed her mind and decided to be a pink dog but I already bought the stuff for a black dog... so she is going to have pink accessories... such as a pink rhine-stone collar and pink bows on her ears... I am excited. Well, I have to get to bed but wanted to update for anyone that actually reads this thing and is wondering if it was ever going to update. Love you all! I'll try to post photos soon.... ok, ok- I'll post a couple now.... slideshow comes later though cuz I am beat!
Enjoying a popsicle... on the couch (what were we thinking!?)
