Well, we are hanging in there and trying to prepare for something we have no idea how to prepare for with Don's approaching deployment... But as we wait, we have been trying to remain positive and prayerful. We are trying to keep things as routine and fun-filled as possible for Shelby. Today Don went to hang out with a friend from work and Shelby, Sue and I went to the Rodeo Parade in downtown Houston. We tried to wake up early and watch the trail riders coming in toward downtown. This is our second year to try that and we keep making it there as the very last rider passes under the bridge on Memorial Drive. We felt like we were re-living last year all over again. Next year we'll get there an hour early I bet. But anyway... we finally made it downtown and, after walking across Houston, we finally settled in the perfect spot and Shelby was able to see all of the sites and LOVED it! She loves horses anyway, so she was in heaven! There were marching bands and dancers and tons of covered wagons and riders from all over the South. There were the cool horses that had been trained to actually dance... Not prance people, DANCE! It was the most bizarre but awesome thing I've ever seen... very impressive. I think that was Shelby's and my favorite part. Well, here are some photos from the past few weeks. Love you all.
