Spring Break Re-cap

Spring Break was wonderful this year as Don and I had the same schedule so we had the entire break off together to spend with Shelby! It was so awesome! We went to a friend's private lake for an early St. Patty's Day party, then went to see my parents & grandparents in Poteet, TX for a couple of days. Then we came home so Don and his brother, Marc, could rebuild our rickety backyard fence (which looks soooo much better now)! Other than that, we just enjoyed our time off. A photographer friend of ours offered to let me come to his studio and use his camera so I could take pics of Shelby! That was a blast! I will put my favorites in this slide show for you to see! It's awesome how lighting and an expensive camera can make such a world of difference! I didn't notice what kind of camera he had but I want one now!!! We had a wonderful Easter, as well... We went to church and then over to Don's mom's house for Easter dinner. Shelby had so much fun hunting eggs (she had 4 egg hunts between school, my parents' house, our house and Sue's). She's an egg-hunting pro now! Oh, and Sue and I took her to the Houston Live Stock Show (& Rodeo)... but we just went to see the animals mostly. It was so much fun... although Shelby wasn't all that impressed until she discovered the big tractors! That was her favorite part (who knew?) She had a 3-D chicken on her dress and she was pointing to it to show the real chickens that one of "them" was on her dress . That was hilarious! Oh- and Shelby started climbing out of her crib a couple of weeks ago so we got her a toddler bed over the break too... She's becoming a big girl. The only other exciting thing is that when we were leaving the home of the people we bought the bed from, I found a baby turtle in the grass that is only slightly larger than a half-dollar. We named him Elmo since that is one of Shelby's favorite characters and easy for her to say. She just likes to call him Toooooohtle though. He's not red, of course, so the name Elmo makes no sense to her.
